A warm thank you to all our participants at the 2009 SACC Entrepreneurial Days in Savannah!
In memory of our friend, colleague
and business partner,
Nils Eric Svensson.
One of Region Skåne´s most faithful is dead. Nils-Eric Svensson died Tuesday, April 21 after he was hit by a vehicle, while crossing the street.
Nils-Eric was in the USA for a conference with the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce as part of a delegation from Sweden. Svensson was here doing what he was most passionate about; making connections and working with regional growth and export investments for Skåne’s Trade and Industry. The accident occurred around 10 PM Savannah time.
Nils-Eric Svensson was born 1947. He grew up in Norra Sandby, Hässleholm´s municipality. He enjoyed competitive swimming and competed for many years. After graduation from high school he took a clerk’s exam (higher education in the Custom’s authority). Nils-Erik worked for the Custom’s authority for about 10 years. At the same time he studied for his exam in economy at the University of Lund.
After different positions within ASG-corporation, in 1993 he got the position as director of planning at The County Administration in Kristianstad province. When they consolidated the provinces in 1997, Nils-Eric continued as part of the development team of Region Skåne and worked as their Development director. As early as 1995 he started working with Skåne Northeast which had a successful completion of the Färe Industry Center.
Since 2009 Nils-Eric was department manager for the Trade and Industry development, involved in development, methods and concepts for regional companies.
Nils- Eric while working at Kraftsamling Skane, was responsible for developing solutions to ward off the effects of the current financial crisis. It lessened the impact of the crisis on the regional trade and industry.

Below are articles written about the accident and Nils Eric.
